South Dakota Pharmacists Association launches a member marketplace with InStockRx

New Egypt, N.J., Sept. 29, 2026. The South Dakota Pharmacists Association, which has represented the pharmacy profession in the state since 1886, has launched the SDPhA Marketplace, powered by InStockRx.

Member pharmacies can list excess inventory, search for medications they need, and complete transactions directly with other verified pharmacies. Access is included in annual membership, and there is no separate monthly platform fee. A 10% seller fee applies only when a member makes a sale.

What it does for a member pharmacy. Inventory that would otherwise sit unused becomes recoverable cash. Stock that is hard to source becomes findable from another pharmacy that already has it. Both sides of that trade stay inside a group of licensed, DEA-registered pharmacies, with no broker in the middle.

The network members are joining. 1,900+ pharmacies are on the platform. In the last 30 days alone, they saved $6 million versus NADAC reference pricing.* Most orders ship the same day.

Activity on the marketplace generates non-dues revenue for SDPhA, which the association can reinvest in programs, advocacy, education, and member services. SDPhA and InStockRx have already begun onboarding member pharmacies.

InStockRx introduced the marketplace to SDPhA members during the association's 140th Annual Convention, held September 10 to 12 in Brookings.

Each transaction carries the same T3 information a wholesaler provides, including Transaction Information, Transaction History, and Transaction Statement, supporting member pharmacies' DSCSA recordkeeping.
